Tianqi Zhang

Tianqi's primary research project is studying the aggregation of γD-crystallin in different denaturing environments using 2D IR. She is the biochemistry expert in the group, utilizing isotope labeling and native chemical ligation to make segmentally labeled proteins.

Before coming to UW-Madison, Tianqi received her B.A. from Grinnell College in Chemistry and Economics in 2011. In her undergraduate research, she studied enzyme kinetics with Professor Trimmer and formation of glycine with Professor Hernandez-Soto.

Tianqi enjoys working out, singing, cooking, and watching vampire movies when she is not working with the HPLC. If you hear the clicking of heels coming down the hallway, it is probably Tianqi returning to the office from the wet lab!
