Ann Marie Woys

Senior Research Scientist at PIKE Technologies

About

The theme of Ann’s research in the Zanni group is to develop 2D IR spectroscopy to quantitatively measure peptide/protein structure.  Whether combining 13C18O isotope labeling with 2D IR lineshape analysis for peptides or designing and synthesizing metal carbonyl ligands and monitoring spectral diffusion for proteins, Ann resolves details of protein structure that would be otherwise difficult with current spectroscopic tools.

Ann did her undergraduate studies in chemistry and math at Saginaw Valley State University.  With Deborah Huntley, she did DFT calculations to study the adsorption of NOx on cerium oxide for nearly two years.  She also developed undergraduate labs with David Karpovich.

For fun, Ann likes wasting time.
