Josh Ostrander

Josh’s research is focused on developing and applying new femtosecond IR imaging techniques.

Before coming to Madison, Josh graduated with a B.S. in chemistry and minor in physics from Indiana Wesleyan University. There he worked with Dr. Steven Tripp studying solvent effects on the kinetics of organic reactions with experimental and theoretical techniques. He also spent a summer at the University of Michigan under the supervision of Dr. Kevin Kubarych studying protein hydration and metal carbonyl complexes using linear and nonlinear IR spectroscopy.

In his free time, Josh enjoys listening to music, being outdoors, drinking good coffee, and spending time with his friends and family.
