Randy Mehlenbacher

Postdoc at Stanford

Randy was the first student in the Zanni group to study purely electronic states. He uses transient absorption anisotropy and 2DWL spectroscopy to study excitons in carbon nanotube thin films in collaboration with Mike Arnold in Materials Science and Engineering.

Before coming to Madison, Randy received a B.S. in Chemistry and a B.S. in Physics from the University of Rochester. At U of R, Randy worked with Dave McCamant on the development of 2D Femtosecond Stimulated Raman Spectroscopy.

If you find Randy outside of the lab, odds are he is taking a long barefoot walk with his dog, log-rolling, or bike riding around Madison.
