Tom McDonough

B.S. Chemistry and B.A. Mathematics 2012, Providence College

Tom is utilizing 2D electronic spectroscopy to study energy and charge transfer dynamics in organic photovoltaic materials.

In 2012, Tom received a B.S. in chemistry and a B.A. in mathematics from Providence College. He worked with Prof. Christopher Laperle studying the solvent induced structural and photoexcitation dynamics of the group VIII transition metal pentacarbonyls.

Outside of lab, Tom enjoys running and swimming, but he is not yet sold on the whole biking thing. Still, he aspires to do the Madison Ironman sometime during his graduate career. 1/31/17 update: The time has passed for the Ironman, but Tom is currently training for the Ice Age Trail 50 Mile in May.
