Michal Maj

About

Michal uses 2D-IR spectroscopy and computational techniques to study the structure and aggregation propensities of human islet amyloid polypeptide (hIAPP).

He received a B.Sc in chemistry from Wroclaw University of Technology and his Ph.D. from Korea University in Seoul, where he worked under the guidance of Prof. Minhaeng Cho. During his doctoral studies, his main project concerned developing novel IR probes of proteins and H-bonding networks.

Outside the lab, Michal enjoys watching football (=soccer), reading about politics, listening to dark-electro, attending concerts, and contemplating the meaning of life.
